LAB 02LIVING PRODUCT CARDS
EXPERIMENT / 02

What if the
product image
noticed you?

Hover the product imagery. On a capable browser, Curtains.js maps each DOM image onto a WebGL plane and our shader bends the pixels toward the cursor. Without WebGL, the cards remain ordinary product cards.

ODDLY RIGHT

Camera energy.

Subtle cursor-driven lens distortion rather than a generic scale-up.

UNEXPECTED

A little physical.

The image surface can flex while the HTML card and copy remain ordinary DOM.

Not another hover zoom.

If this is too much, we can reduce it to a nearly invisible optical response.

01 / KEEP IFIt makes products feel alive.

The effect should create curiosity before click, not compete with product information.

02 / TUNE IFThe distortion feels gimmicky.

Reduce amplitude, RGB split, duration and hover area until it is barely perceptible.

03 / DROP IFIt hurts clarity or performance.

The fallback is already the normal card, so removing the shader never breaks discovery.
